Shakespeare weeps at my sentence structure

Coffee. Parent. Words. Person. Joy.
S’mores Tartlets! Again, I love tarts. I love that you can change the base/filling/topping and have a never ending array of amazing desserts. I’m going to be blogging about these this summer over at www.fromnorthtosouthblog.com, so if you feel so inclined please go and check us out!

Confessions

I’ve been thinking a lot about myself lately, which sounds moderately self absorbed, but it’s not like that. I recently met someone new, who isn’t a co-worker (which is typically how I meet new people) and it’s sparked a new interested in myself. He asked me about myself. What do I like to do? What are my hobbies? What am I like? And all I could say was “Well.. I like to take naps occasionally.” Seriously you guys, I said that.

I’m not a boring person by any means. People have used the words “funny” and “interesting” to describe me. Those are real adjectives that have been thrown out with me in mind! So when someone new asks you about yourself and tells you they’ve climbed mountains, and sailed down the coast of Australia and ski all the time.. and you say you like to take naps, it’s kind of a stupid. Okay, a lot of stupid.

So I’ve been slowly compiling a list of things that make me, me. Which I think is actually a pretty sweet exercise to take part in.

So far I’ve come up with the following:

I love my child like nothing else. Ever.
I love to read.
I really really like offensive novelty rap music. (think, Get Low)
I really really like when people take offensive novelty rap and make it a weird instrumental/acoustic thing. Youtube “Acoustic cover of Get Low”, thank me later.
I really love baking and all that comes with it. Mostly the pastry books.
I really love punk rock covers of other songs. The Startling Line is particularly awesome for this.
I really like A Song of Ice and Fire.
I really love Nathan Fillion.
I love photography and take pictures daily.
I really REALLY love John Stamos.
No matter how good my knife skills are, I’m always concerned about cutting myself.
I love joy. I love it! I want to hand out joy like it’s spare change.
I hate my kitchen shoes, no matter how practical they are.
I love (LOVE) mix cds.
I have no desire to ever not be a smart ass.
I love that my shiny new computer has a keyboard that lights up.
I am way too attached to my iPhone.
I am very adamant about gay rights.
I am very adamant about racial equality.
I’m kind of a hippie granola type. Also, not a big fan of actual granola.
I hate wearing socks.

I could probably continue on and on but that would probably be too much. Plus, I want the option of writing another post in similar fashion.

I guess on that note, I should also add that i appear to be a bit selfish.

oh well!

Saturday nights. They’re not for going to bars or dance clubs or whatever the kids are doing these days. They’re for showing your 6 year old son that Mama is a badass on the swings.
